The assholes in the Democratic Leadership have succeeded in forcing Biden to step down and played right into Trump's hands. AOC has already exposed that they are planning to bypass Kamala Harris for an open ticket. If they are planning that they are probably planning to put Gavin Newsome on the top because both Newsome and Harris cannot be together as they are both from California and that is illegal under the Constitution. Who Newsome chooses as his VP is immaterial. It is a losing ticket. Even a Harris/whoever is likely a loser, because according to Professor Lichtman they have lost the incumbent edge and a few other points on his prediction scale.
It was the dumbest thing they could have done. This is driven by the wealthy Democratic Oligarchs who withdrew their money unless Biden was kicked to the curb. In this the Democratic Party is no different than the Republicans. They think they know better than the voters. They think they know better than the experts. They're spineless to stand up to amateurs using money to manipulate them. They're using flawed polls to influence them. Polls that are biased if you know anything about polling.
The Democratic Oligarchy has ensured that Trump will win and Project 2025 will be implemented and this country will become a Fascist State.
Benjamin Franklin was correct about "keeping it". And we've lost it. Democracy will be dead come January 6. We will have installed the first U.S. Dictator, Trump the First, President for Life.
Now let me be clear. I didn't support Biden in 2016 or 2020. Biden was too old in 2016 but I voted for him in 2020 because the alternative was Trump. I didn't support him in 2024, I voted for Dean Phillips just because he was younger than Biden. But once Biden was the nominee I had no choice but to vote for him because of the alternative.
I have never supported Harris. She quickly joined Kirsten Gillibrand to deny Al Franken his due process (which as a former prosecutor to me is a heinous SIN) and then they both quickly forced him to resign when we needed him the most and all for their personal ambitions. They both wanted to be president and saw Franken as a threat, despite his assurances he had no interest in being president. Kamala was polling so low in 2020 she dropped out first. I am convinced it was a back room deal with Joe Biden that if she dropped out and he chose her as his VP she would bring him the Black vote. I'm still convinced as I have heard that if Harris is not chosen to replace Biden on the ticket but passed over, they Democrats will lose the Black vote. Thus ensuring that Trump wins in November. I don't want Harris to be the first female president and I don't want to vote for her because being president is all about character and she has shown hers when she threw Al Franken under the bus for her own personal ambition.
But I will hold my nose and vote for her if her VP choice gives her any chance of winning against Trump in November because I DO NOT WANT TRUMP TO WIN. If the Democrats lose and there *is* an election in 2028, I will not be a Democrat and will NOT vote for Harris is she is the nominee. I will no longer be a registered Democrat by then. I may not even be a resident of the United States. While I am getting my house ready to live in it until I die, I may end up renting it out and moving out of the country as an ex-pat, to a country that is more Democratic than what the U.S. will become under a Trump administration.
I am not a political wonk. I don't pay all that much attention to it. BUT I AM NOT STUPID! I score high on abstract logic and I can connect the dots and look at future repercussions to current decisions. I hate being right but I no longer hold my tongue. When it happens exactly as I predicted I will scream TOLD YOU SO! I would like nothing more than to be wrong, but I fear I will not because Professor Lichtman backs me up with his predictions that have been spot on.
Professor Lichtman says the ONLY way for the Democrats to have a chance to win is if Biden resigns and Harris is sworn in. I say it has to happen before the Democratic convention. And Harris has to be very careful who she chooses are her VP. It should NOT be Gretchen Wittmer. Her strongest choice should be Pete Buttegieg. He is very strong politically, taking down Republican opponents quickly, thoroughly and intelligently.
How could we have avoided being where we are?
Well, Obama should have chosen Hillary Clinton as his VP. After 8 years as VP she would have been perfectly in line to win in 2016. Then she should have chosen Bernie Sanders as her VP in 2016 and then with Bernie's advice, chosen a new, younger VP for her second term in order to set them up to win in 2024. But the Democrats were too stupid to do that because they don't think long term. They only think as far as the next election. They have no plans for 4 years, 8 years or even 20 years into the future.
They are stupid.
And we all are going to pay the price.
